Moving up
pining
for the sun

wanting
to wake up
as solstices come

churning during
dawn and dusk
solitary wonder

holding off
judgement
under cover
of darkness

trying
to keep sharp
under spots
of stars

scent-marked
flaring nostrils
from sulphurous
marshes
of subconscious
pattern and logic...

as alarming confidants
so far anonymously speaking
glowingly though even more broadly
considered scandalous on newscasts
of changing tactics while pushing plans
with few details from here to there

upon taking last stands
like jackhammer snaps
with swagger yet having
little impact in pantheons
of brash standup

priggishly getting out of jail on bail
looking trim and casual
conjured as a heartthrob by scholars
after being left in the dark...
